{Happy Family}:: Dayton and Springfield OH Portrait Photographer

This is a persistent family! We had to reschedule twice, due to sick kiddos and weather nastiness. Finally, a month after the original date...they were able to drive down from Cleveland to let me capture some of their family joyfulness.

And JOYFULNESS is absolutely the word that best describes this family! Full of energy and obvious love for one another...this session was an absolute blast for me to be a part of. I just sat back and captured their interactions! Enjoy the sneak peek and the slideshow...I found the perfect song for their family!

{Sunday Fashion Series}

"What should we wear?"

This is the most popular question I receive when someone books a session. Having been there myself, I fully understand both the excitement and the angst that come with trying to decide what to dress everyone in for family pictures.

So, some of my photographer colleagues and I decided to get together and come up with fun, coordinating outfits that would work well for family portraits. I have decided to post a Sunday Fashion Series highlighting one of these outfit boards each week.

Each Sunday, I will be posting a new "storyboard" of coordinated family outfits...information on where to purchase will be included as well.

I hope that this gets you even more excited about creating your family portraits, and takes some of the pressure of outfit-hunting off your shoulders.

Here is the first installment of the Sunday Fashion Series. ENJOY!!!

{Matt & Karen} :: Dayton and Springfield OH Wedding Photographer

Matt & Karen's engagement session...or, as an alternate post title,

{Adventures in Farm Photography}

This was an awesome session, full of so many of my favorite things - barns, meadows, cows, sunsets.

However, it was also full of added extras - like ticks, mosquitoes, and hiney-biting. Yes, you read that right - HINEY-BITING. But, I will get to that in a little bit!

Matt and Karen were a blast. They had several locations picked out that carried special significance to them - so we just traveled around, relaxed, and had a good time - taking some pictures along the way.

Here are a just a few:

Lest you think this adventure was nothing but sunshine and cutesy pictures...let me add a few more for your perusing entertainment:

A special friend of Matt & Karen's decided to make a guest appearance at their session. (don't ask...you probably don't want to know.) No, seriously...this mask has been a staple prop in Karen & Matt's picture history, so it is only appropriate for it to be included in the engagement and wedding photos, as well.

And, my favorite picture of the day! I like to call it:

"Yeah, so I bit you in the hiney, Miss Photographer...exactly WHAT do you plan to do about it?"

And, so ends your trip down {Adventures in Farm Photography} Lane. I hope you enjoyed our trip! And remember...never turn your back on a cow! :)

{Cody & Julie} :: Dayton and Springfield OH wedding photographer

This was one of the most awesome sessions I have had in a long time.

I had been sick and battling wicked allergies for several days, and wasn't feeling really excited about lugging my camera around for a couple of hours.

We headed out anyway, and then they said the words...the words that sound like angels singing a Hallelujah chorus to any artist. These words:

"Seriously, you are the artist...we trust you...just tell us what you want us to do."

All of a sudden, I was refreshed and ready to rock the session. I had a gorgeous, trendy couple who was up for anything, beautiful light, funky locations...I was as happy as could be.

I am sure they got a kick out of me getting excited and yelling, "These are SO cool!" and "Oh, man, you guys...these ROCK!" What can I say? I get into what I am doing! ;)

Thanks for "getting me" and trusting me to get awesome images for you. You definitely know how to make an artist's day...and to guarantee the best images for yourself!

Enjoy your sneak peek...can't wait for the wedding!

{Aimee & JD} :: Dayton and Springfield OH weddinh photographer

Aimee, JD, and I finally were able to dodge the bad weather of late and head out for their engagement session.

The gardens they chose were absolutely beautiful - lush, green, and gorgeous light. I guess all the rain was good for something, after all.

This session took me a little longer than usual, but for a good cause - these two were hilarious. In between the "serious" shots, there was lots of pointing, giggling, funny-face-making, and just plain goofiness. I can see why I have heard they are both such good teachers.

Hope you both enjoy the sneak peek; I am looking forward to the wedding in a few weeks.
